Town Manager- Kenneth Geathers, Jr.

Appointed on August 1st, 2011 to perform the position of Town Manager for Rutherford College. Kenneth is an honors graduate of North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He completed his graduate work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in public administration and is a graduate of the UNC School of Government's Municipal & County Administration Course. The scope of his local government experience entails knowledge in government administration & policy, land use development and project management.

Town Manger's duties include:

• Carrying out the policies adopted by the elected body
• Providing professional administration, management and supervision of municipal departments
• Assuring compliance with relevant federal laws and regulations, state laws and municipal bylaws, ordnances and regulations
• Developing long-range plans with guidance from the elected body and assists in the achievement of common goals and objectives
